About the Border Artist Society

Border Artist Society (BAS) is a creative collective rooted in Eagle Pass, Texas, dedicated to uplifting artists and building a stronger, more connected creative community along the border.

We create spaces where artists of all levels can come together, share ideas, and grow. Through free gatherings, workshops, and public activations, BAS centers creativity as a tool for connection, expression, and community care.

Programs & Initiatives

Border Artist Society creates programs that celebrate, uplift, and expand what it means to be an artist in the borderlands.

Through community and juried exhibitions, workshops, and public activations, we have served over 500 individuals and showcased the work of more than 100 artists from across the United States and Mexico. Our work has been recognized by national platforms including CBS Mornings, NPR, and Texas Public Radio for helping shift the narrative around border communities into one rooted in creativity, cultural pride, and connection.

Our programming centers access, storytelling, and representation, creating opportunities for artists at all stages to share their work and grow. As we continue to expand, we are also bringing film and media into our programming through initiatives like MIRAAA Media Fest, opening new pathways for creative expression and regional collaboration.

Exhibitions

Our exhibitions bring together artists from across the borderlands, the United States, and Mexico. Through both community and juried shows, we have featured over 100 artists, creating space for diverse voices and cultural expression.
