We’re Bringing Film & Culture to Eagle Pass

MIRAAA Media Fest is a biannual, tri-city film festival connecting the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo, and Eagle Pass. Organized by borderland creatives, the festival showcases independent film, experimental art, and the voices shaping our region.

 

In 2026, Eagle Pass joins as an official host city, expanding MIRAAA’s reach and impact. This milestone strengthens the creative ecosystem by bringing new opportunities, increased visibility, and meaningful collaboration to the community.

  • Tri-city film festival featuring regional and independent work at the Riskin Building Saturday, August 22nd

  • Launching an open call for short films across all three cities

  • Commissioning 4 local filmmakers to produce 2 original short films

  • Commission filmmakers paid accommodations and travel for all events.

  • Premiering all selected films to be featured in all three cities.

  • Hosting panels, conversations, and an award ceremony

  • Curated art exhibition for Nuestra Gente, Nuestra Cultura exhibition all August

  • Bringing in tourism and traveling filmmakers to the festival
